Evacuation Diagrams
Evacuation Diagrams are required by legislation in all Australian workplaces, public buildings, and shared accommodations. In Queensland, Evacuation Diagram requirements are outlined in the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 and the Australian Standard 3745-2010.
As part of our Evacuation Diagram process, we include a complimentary Assembly Area Map so that you can include a visual aid in your Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
We offer the BASIC Plan and our PRO Plan. See the outlined details below to better understand what is offered.
BASIC Plan Overview:
Compliant to the Australian Standard 3745-2010: Minimum Elements outlined in Section 3.5.5
Compliant to the Building Fire Safety Code 2008
Cost effective to develop and faster development time
Easy to maintain for changes or updates
Assembly Area Map automatically included with your Evacuation Diagrams.
BASIC Plan Considerations:
Does not cover the Optional Elements as outlined in the AS3745-2010.
Does not offer customizable elements (aside from the inclusion of your logo)
Our Advice:
We recommend the BASIC Plan if you are trying to be mindful of budget constraints.
We also recommend this plan if you have a large site that covers multiple buildings, or anything more than five floors of a single building.
PRO Plan Overview:
Includes everything in the BASIC Plan
Includes both Minimum Elements outlined in Section 3.5.5, as well as Optional Elements in Section 3.5.6 such as:
North compass
First Aid Kits
Warden Details
Defibrillators
Spill Kits
Hazardous chemical store
Customizable options and details:
Room labels
Evacuation Procedures Text Changes (limited)
Border color changes
Room color coding
PRO Plan Considerations
Longer development time
Harder to maintain with any changes or updates.
Higher cost
Our Advice:
We recommend the PRO Plan if you are maintaining a single building or a small business suite that is no more than two floors.
We also recommend this plan if you have concerns about meeting requirements that are beyond the minimum standards of the AS 3745-2010.

Assembly Area Maps
As mentioned above, a part of our Evacuation Diagram process, we include a complimentary Assembly Area Map so that you can include a visual aid in your Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
The complimentary service offers the full basic layout of your sight.
However, for a small additional fee, we can add extra details onto your Assembly Area Map. Such details can include, but are not limited to; Fire Hydrants & Fire Pump Shed.
We can also include more details, such as Solar Panels, Electrical Switch Mains, or Hazardous Chemical Storage, etc.
Though we will request the advice of our clients to properly locate and feature any details you deem are necessary to better facilitate a safe environment.
Concerns about frequent flooding in your area? We also offer an option for Assembly Area Maps specifically in the event of a flood.
First Aid & Health Safety Maps
Although our PRO Plan evacuation diagrams have First Aid equipment featured on them, the diagram only features the elements of the floor level of the building you are currently occupying.
If you have a larger site or have several floors, such as a school or shopping centre, we would personally advise our First Aid & Health Safety Map. It is generally a single map that outlines the location of your First Aid Kits and Defibrillators. If one First Aid Kit has or is currently being utilized, the map can direct you to the next closest location for medical emergencies.
We can also add any additional information you think is relevant to your site, such as EpiPens, Nurse Offices, Sick Bays, or Emergency Response locations.
This map does not have any strict regulations it must adhere to, and is therefore quite flexible when adding or featuring information present on it. Though it should be noted that it was developed with the intent of supporting the Safe Work Australia Code of Practice.
